More About Me

My name is Adam Vogelzang. I served as a diplomat at the U.S. Department of State for over 23 years, earning multiple prestigious Superior Honor Awards and Meritorious Honor Awards. My overseas postings were in Mexico, Brazil, Canada, the United Kingdom, Myanmar (Burma), and Armenia. I also served in policy roles in Washington, DC. This gives me a broad perspective in reviewing your application.

Besides personally adjudicating tens of thousands of visas and passports, I have trained and mentored visa officers and managers to ensure they make good decisions in line with current U.S. policy.

Throughout my career, I have seen too many applicants come poorly prepared to their interviews. Now that I am retired, I look forward to helping applicants practice and be at their best for the visa interview.

I received the State Department’s Superior Honor Award in April 2026 for my work as the consular section chief at the U.S. Embassy in Myanmar (Burma).
